At around 2am Saturday night a shooter open fired inside of a gay nightclub in Orlando Florida.

Of the roughly 200 people inside of the club 50 were killed, another 53 are injured, making it the deadliest shooting in US history.

It has been reported that the shooter, who will remain nameless, called the police and declared his allegiance to the so called Islamic State just moments before opening fire. He was killed on the scene.

The FBI had investigated the shooter twice before, once in 2013 after making extremist comments to his coworkers and again in 2014 when they were found to have ties to a suicide bomber. Both times he was released and the investigation closed.

Officials are operating under the assumption that this is an IS inspired crime as there is currently no indicators that it was orchestrated by the terrorist group.
